WoodMaxx DC-1260 Gas Powered Wood Chipper

The WoodMaxx DC-1260 is a self-feeding gasoline engine powered wood chipper that features a large 12″ x 6″ infeed opening and can handle material up to 4″ in diameter. Weighing in at 408 lbs. this drum style chipper is equipped with a Professional grade Briggs & Stratton XR2100 gasoline engine that boasts 13.5 HP and 21.00 ft./lbs. of torque. Optional electric start is also available as an upgrade. The material is fed into a sloped infeed bin and fed into the 10″ diameter 53 lb. chipper drum that acts as a power feed assist system pulling the branches in at up to 50′ per/min. Although the chipper weighs over 400 pounds it is perfectly balanced and can be easily moved to the work site by tipping it back and pushing it around with the included handles. Briggs & Stratton 420CC OHV XR2100 Professional Series Engine

The WoodMaxx DC-1260 is equipped with the high performing and durable, Briggs and Stratton 420cc OHV XR2100 Professional series engine. This engine features a lo-tone muffler, OHV technology, dual ball bearings, and more. We offer an optional electric start ($150.00) which includes a 12V battery and 20 amp charging system. The Briggs & Stratton engine also includes an oil guard system to automatically stop the engine if the oil level is too low. The Magnetron Electronic ignition system ensures maintenance-free easy starting and the higher torque provides more power resulting in improved wood chipper productivity. Vanguard 400 OHV 25V3 Commercial Series Engine

Woodmaxx offers an engine upgrade to the Vanguard 400 OHV 25V3 Commercial Series engine. This is a 14hp engine that features simplified 3-step starting, eliminates fuel/ oil dilution, optimizes fuel management, reduces noise/vibration, and allows for more efficient power management. Centrifugal Clutch

The centrifugal clutch allows for easy starting by keeping the belt drive disengaged until engine RPM is increased. The clutch automatically adjusts itself for varying loads, ensuring the engine maintains its optimal torque range and delivers the best performance to the chipping drum.

The pull start weight is 408lbs. The 12V electric start weighs an additional 11 lbs.

12″ x 6″ Infeed Opening

The WoodMaxx DC-1260 offers a 12″ x 6″ infeed to easily accept those crooked branches. The recommended chipping width is 4″ soft greenwood and 2″ seasoned hardwood. This is a self-feeding, gravity assisted design with a sloped infeed bin (strong branches must be trimmed). The infeed rate is 50 ft./min.

360 Degree Swivel Discharge Chute

Removable Tow Hitch (2″ ball)
The WoodMaxx DC-1260 features a removable tow hitch for easy storage and a convenient traveling experience. This is also considered a safety feature.

2 Heavy Duty Main Shaft Bearings

The main shaft bearings on the DC-1260 wood chipper passes through the flywheel housing and is supported by two industrial flange bearings. This feature, combined with the heavy duty shaft, allows the flywheel to run extremely true, while adding a great deal of strength.

Hinged Infeed Hopper-Easy Knife Access

All wood chippers will require some routine maintenance like adjusting the gap between the bed knife and the flywheel knives as they wear. This gap is essential to proper operation of the wood chipper. The infeed hopper on the WoodMaxx DC-1260 swings open to expose the bed knife, allowing the user to access the knife to make adjustments. Simply remove 2 bolts and the hopper will swing open like a door. The feature is exclusive to WoodMaxx. Other chippers require the user to crawl into the infeed hopper to change the bed knife or adjust the gap between the bed knife and the flywheel knives.

Heavy Duty EPDM Belt Drive- Exclusive to WoodMaxx
New for 2021, the DC-1260 wood chippers are now equipped with the industrial strength 3-belt drive system. These EPDM rubber compound high temp rated belts have superior combination of flex and load carrying capacity. They also meet SAE standard size BX40. The advantage of 3 belts is a more evenly distributed load and prolonging belt life.

Safety Stop Bar

Safety is paramount on WoodMaxx wood chippers. Located at the top of the infeed bin, the DC-1260 utilizes an electrical safety switch to shut the engine down. Simply push down the safety bar and the engine will come to a halt in seconds.

Rust Resistant Powder Coat Finish

This is high impact, UV stable, fade-resistant polyester powder coating that is baked on at 450 degrees. Powder coating finish is thicker and more durable than ordinary paint.

16×8.0-7 Tires

These chippers come standard with a pair of DOT approved 2-ply rugged directional tires. These tires can handle all sorts of obstacles from the streets to the job site. The wheel base is 31″ wide for easy travel through trails, fence gates, etc. If a wider wheel base is needed, we offer a 12″ base extension kit.

Rubber Chip Baffle

The WoodMaxx DC-1260 is equipped with a rubber baffle feature that protects the user from chip blow-back.

Machine 90% Assembled Upon Delivery

The WoodMaxx DC-1260 comes shipped to you in a wooden container and is almost completely assembled. Simply attach the infeed bin, discharge chute, wheels, and tow hitch. All WoodMaxx chippers are given a comprehensive 22 point inspection, and are service prior to leaving our warehouse. The drive belts have been aligned and tightened, knives have been installed, adjusted, and torqued down, and bearings have been greased. These and other steps performed here greatly reduce assembly time on your end. Just follow the illustrated, American written, user friendly assembly manual (and watch the video), and you will be up and running in about two hours.
